The universal adoption of an agreed nomenclature has never been more important for the description of polymer structures in publishing and on-line searching. The two-page A Brief Guide to Polymer Nomenclature (IUPAC. Pure Appl. Chem. 84, 2167—2169 (2012), available as Electronic supplementary information) gives an overview so that scientists, teachers, students, copy-editors and authors have an authoritative summary of the relevant IUPAC recommendations.
